The 'idea' behind Gigastudio, is that you buy a reasonably priced PC and a soundcard, install Giga and shove it out of the way as if it were a 'hardware' sampler. Running on a separate machine is the best way to go for 'pro' use. Thats why Giga is prevailant in film scoring work, for example. Having said that, the 'Giga edit' editing tool is horrible! It's not much fun if you're into creating your own sounds.
