Feel like the cops pulling you over for half a mile over is unfair. In some cases, some cops will but let's be honest, not all will. Tired of seeing the same sketchy van go past you fifty times? Tired of filling up with diesel from some sketchy gas station? Tired of running those curtain trailers that I'm sure don't exist anymore? Then this guide will help you out some.

Don't believe me? Check out this fancy trailer. The days of when I used to work for Wal-Mart. Pay was crap but man, did I get those benefits.

Moving right along to the next section! Once you get in to a profile, you'll see a UI. You wanna click options then gameplay. From there you'll have a list of lovely choices to pick from. These are what I use to give it a more authentic feel.

Fatigue Simulation:: You have a 14 hour clock to run on. Once your time hits about an hour and a half remaining (don't quote me on that), your driver will start to yawn. You will probably also get a notification. It's best to start finding a rest area for the night or day. It's not like the other trucking games SCS made where there's no penalty for driving without sleep. Much like ETS and ETS2, you can get fined and you can doze off and probably wreck your truck and damage your load. Highly recommend this to be on.

9050c

Traffic Offense:: Do you want tickets? Recommendation is yes. It's even better if you have Klaas' Real Economy mod on. That little mod will definetly keep you from running into people, running red lights or just speeding as a whole. Route Advisor Speed Limit: Couple of options here. By default, your nav will show the truck limit.

California is 55, Nevada is 70, I believe, and Arizona is 65 or 70, maybe higher. As long as you are running whatever the number is on the nav, you are golden in the cops eyes. The same goes for the car limit option. However, if you really want to feel like an actual trucker, then set the option to hide. Of course, you'll require basic knowledge of speed limits but it's fun.

You'll also have to keep an eye for the speed limit signs. I run 72 in California, Nevada and Arizona. I might run 75 in Arizona but it all depends on my mood.

Recommendation is 'hide' Parking Difficulty: Set this to random Whenever you arrive at the customer, you'll have to park within a few locations. Normally, you would stop, talk to the guard and he would tell you where to park. Transmission Type: Automatic, Real Automatic, Sequential, or H-Shifter. Automatic requires to use the gas and brake without any shifting. Real Auto requires you to shift between drive, neutral, and reverse. Sequential is your manual transmission.

I'm on a laptop. I prefer sequential because I can play around with the gears more on hills. H-Shifter is your steering wheel and shifter combo. Braking Intensity/Trailer Stability: Slide these all the way to the left. I think both are self-explanatory. Braking intensity is how your brakes react. Default values are in the middle so you don't have start slowing down from a distance.

Trailer stability affects how stable the trailer is at certain speeds during curves. So if you run a 2k hp motor and are going 120 in a curve, you might.you will roll it over. Advanced Coupling: This has to be on. Of course some mods might not be ready for this feature. You have to line your fifth wheel up with the kingpin. Automatic engine start: This option starts the truck whenever you press the E key or press the gas.

That's not how this works IRL so get rid of it. Liftable axles: You would have switches for that. Utilize the key for it. Heavy haulers unite! Air brakes and realistic fuel consumption: Check both of those boxes. 18 WoS Haulin was good for that feature.

I never held the brakes in that game because the air would drop like crazy. SCS fixed that here and with ETS. If your pressure is low, your brakes are locked up. Wait till the pressure builds up like a trucker normally would. Excessive braking, damaged truck are two cause of that to happen. Fuel consumption is self-explanatory. Heavier loads and faster speeds with drink more fuel.

Lighter loads and slower speeds will conserve fuel. Always check your gauges and your info on how many more miles you have to go. Also know your tank size. The 579 220 gallon tanks will not be able to go as far as the W900 or 389's 300 gallon tanks. Bigger tanks hold more fuel, which means less filling up. S/N: I just put almost $700 into that 389 on my profile. Granted my light had kicked but still.

I'm not going to link the mods right now, but in the future I might. A few mods I suggest to make the game more realistic are all available on Steam or on mod websites. I personally use atsmods.lt for my stuff. Jazzycat: If you played ETS2, you know all about Jazzy.

AI mods and trailer mods. Other trailer mods: There are too many to name. Solaris has a flatbed one, Fontaine Phantom, and so does B4RT.

B4RT also does the Wabash stuff too. There's a 53' and 20' container mod on Steam, as well as a water tanker and some other. I run the containers and a Food Lion reefer. I will try to add the ones that I use or have used in the past, links included.

The major inconsistency is probably the weigh stations. If you run trailer mods, then you know what I'm talking about. Legal weight for California and most states is 80,000 lbs. Anything over is considered overweight and will result in a fine.

Haulin', Convoy, PTTM.those games had those penalties. I think the fine was $1,000 back then.

Hopefully SCS will implent that in the future. This would mean the scales would show greater details, being able to adjust the trailer axles and keeping fuel in your truck at a certain level.

Last load I hauled was a flatbed and I weighed 100,000lbs. I passed inspection. Legally, I probably would have been turned every which way but loose. I thank you for reading this guide.

I hope this helps you in some form or fashion in playing American Truck Simulator. As I said before, I apologize for the guides formatting at times. I rushed while making this however I will fix things and implent links where necessary. The 389 in the background of the three pictures is my main truck now. It has 14,660 miles.

The truck runs a 550 C15 Cat engine with a Eaton-Fuller 18-speed transmission. Again, thank you for reading and I will be making edits whenever I have time to do so.

So I want to start my 3rd play through and I want it to be a more realistic-immersive experience. But I can't find the mods I'm looking for. My first problem with Fallout 4 is how easy you get guns and ammunition.

I mean, come on, 210 years and still find perfectly preserved pistols and rounds? Even if you don't, you find caps lying around every corner, and you can buy riffles or shotguns for less than 50 caps. Or if you want to use melee weapons, you have to run avoiding bullets all the time to get close to your enemies. That's just not right. I've been looking around and didn't find most of the things I'd like to have in my game, so I decided to ask you guys if you have any recommendations ^^ I'm playing the PC version and I'm looking for mods like: 1.

You don't find much ammo in containers (almost none, or none will be ok I suppose.) 2. Enemies such as raiders spawn only with melee weapons and when they have guns, just small amounts of ammo.

Prices of guns and ammo are high enough to make you think twice before buying. No caps in containers or random places. No guns in random places (just melee weapons maybe) 6.

Less populated commonwealth (less raiders, settlers, etc. I think i saw a few on Nexus but not sure which one to use) 7. Reload mods like the one Gopher was using in season 1 of Jack's game play. Realistic damage (like you take 1 shot, you're dead.

I've seen a few on Nexus but not sure which one to use) And any other mod that you guys recommend will be welcomed Gracias in advance ^^ EDIT: I'm going to try out 'Scavenged Wastes' and see how it works but still looking for recommendations ^^ Edited January 31, 2017 by Sebngarde. You see, I'm using the bForceNPCsUseAmmo=1.ini tweak for Fallout 4. Essentially, what this means is that enemies will use up their ammunition in their inventory, and once they run out, they'll resort to melee. I find this much more realistic than the infinite ammo they had in the vanilla game. The default amount of ammunition they had was so low, that they'd fire about 8 bullets and then run up to punch me. This also meant that I could never loot ammo off their bodies because they'd use it all up, and as such, I'd sometimes run out of ammo too. Taken from the description of the mod that does opposite to what you want ( Simply More Stuff - Ammo and Caps by Billyro).

Give Horizon Survival mod expanded a look. This is a complete overhaul of the FO4 survival mode and it makes the game much more realistic. Ammo is hard to find and you are forced to spend perks to survive before you can spend perks on guns or armor. You can no longer steal food from settlements. All bad guys have been rebalanced (not bullet sponges) but tougher. Gen 1 and 2 are far more scary. You truely fear the Institute.

Mods

You lvl much slower no matter how smart your character is. I have been playing this overhaul for the last week and it is very tough and very fun if you enjoy challenges. This mod overwrites many things in the game and does not play well with other mods that change the same thing. I did a clean game install and only added mods I must have like Gophers save at anytime, lower your weapon, easy hack. I also really enjoy the APC mod that gives me a mobile platform to move around the map quickly and store loot and have not had one game crash.

I have 1375 hours in FO4 and this mod has refreshed my game play like no other. It has made me rethink and relearn what is important in the game. Horizons Mod is not for light weigh player. You have to enjoy misery.haha taken from the Nexus mod page: Some of the key features that should be understood before playing Horizon:. Food/Water/Sleep/Perks/Level-ups no longer restore health.

Bandages and First Aid Kits can be used out of combat to heal wounds (crafted only; at the chem station.). Limb damage can only be cured by 'Trauma Kits' (and doctors) now (crafted only; at the chem station.). Stimpaks are the only thing that heals in combat (and no longer heals limb damage.). Loot (especially ammo and rare materials) is reduced.

Loot containers and NPCs are given more appropriate/immersive loot, including brand new items. Leveling is much slower, and stats/health/damage is all rescaled and balanced around it.

Many of the bloated damage and resist perks are rebalanced against the new scaling system. Some perks were completely overhauled to give new bonuses and utility. The 'VANS' perk now grants you bonus perk points every 5 levels (this offsets the slower leveling progression.).

Realistic Mod 1.11.2

Many NPCs scale better with your level, and should be more challenging throughout your entire playthrough. New crafting ingredients are added to some recipes (some require salvaging, some crafting.). Pharmaceuticals are crafted under the 'Utility' category of the chem station, and are used to craft medical supplies.

A new equipment item is used to increase or offload your carry weight depending on perks/allies, crafted at the new 'Robotics Lab.' . A new settlement fast travel system is implemented through the settlement workshop under 'Resources - Misc.' .

A new settlement progression system gives you goals and rewards for progressing your settlements ( still in development.). New guard towers, sentry turrets, vendor stalls, misc objects are available. Stimpaks have 1 exception, in that they will heal both legs by a very small amount.

I did this so that players won't accidentally get stuck limping around if they forgot to bring trauma kits with them. Do you know about this ini tweak? Taken from the description of the mod that does opposite to what you want ( Simply More Stuff - Ammo and Caps by Billyro) Ok, I tried this one out and I can see the problem already xD Looks like enemies spawn with 3 to 10 shots and most of them don't have a melee weapon, so as soon as they finish their 3 shots, they come running to you waving their fists xD But i have to say it's very interesting for certain builds ^^ Thanks again ^^ Edited January 31, 2017 by Sebngarde. This game does not use vanilla leveled list addition methods as a way to get raiders to use the weapons, so bashed patches are not needed and will not effect this mod.

This mod does, however, use a script to add weapons to the leveled list. Keep that in mind when uninstalling/reinstalling this mod all willy nilly as it may cause issues down the road. I advise throwing this mod into your game in the beginning/in the middle of your playthrough, and then not installing too many more leveled list weapons. Thats the problem indeed. But maybe one of the melee mods can solve it? Like or however, there might be issues with leveled lists - check those comments, for example PS: there is also a massive raider overhaul mod - but it looks like it aimed more at armors, not weapons Cool, I'll check it out. For now I was trying 'scavenged wastes', which removes most of the loot lying around, and give enemies like raiders mostly melee weapons.

I like the idea of not getting much loot and weapons at the beginning, it makes you think how to use your caps. Although there are a few issues, like for example some raiders don't have clothes. It's really hard to have a serious mano-a-mano with a naked junkie:/ And most traders have almost no caps (0 in some cases) so it's really hard to get caps (I suppose it'd be easier doing jobs).

But as I said before, I like the idea so I'll play with it for a little while I suppose. Now the problem would be modding the combat and damage. I'm trying on very hard before going to survival, and got killed by the same single dog 5 times this evening:/. The Raider Overhaul is a personal favorite of mine.

If ever does a second, fully modded out playthrough, he NEEDS this in his load order, along with its companion for Super Mutants. They both are excellent and make fighting them much more enjoyable, especially the cool ass loot you can get off em. The Raider Overhaul made doing a raider run through Nuka World much more enjoyable, seeing as you have really cool looking gear that actually stood up to top tier metal/military gear. Just remember, if you find any blue paint, put it away in a separate container immediately, so it doesn't get scrapped.

Thanks, I'll check it out later again, but for what I could see in the description is not exactly the kind of tweak I'm looking for ^^; Correct me if I'm wrong, but looks like this mod just adds more raiders and changes their gear. But thanks for the recommendation ^^ Edited February 1, 2017 by Sebngarde. Don't know if anyone cares about this topic anymore, but I'm going to post the mods I'm using right now just in case someday it's useful. This is not my full mod list. It only has the ones related to immersion/realism (just my opinion btw) 1. Arbitration (for enemy AI) 2. Create you own difficulty Rebalance (for damage tweaks, player 0.8, enemies 1.2 because melee is so OP) 3.

Legendary Enemy Spawning (set to 0) 4. Reduced level up speed (1/3) 5. Scavenged Wastes (loving the almost-no-loot idea) And that's all i got right now. Getting Caps is very hard unless you do jobs with the Scavenged Wastes mod because traders don't have any caps (some times they have up to 100, but mostly 0), and you don't find any loot in containers, no caps, no bobby pins, no ammo. Most enemies don't have guns and they run to you with melee weapons, and many don't have good armor. I'm really enjoying these mods, but still hunting for more.
